Office Visit Workflow Analysis

Improving patient flow for in-person medical practice visits is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency, patient privacy, and overall quality of care.

Goal of the analysis

Evaluate the current workflow of the Central Valley Medical Practice. The practice utilizes paper charting and is planning a transition to an Electronic Health Record system with the goal of improving efficiency and the security of patient data.

The staff and providers were interviewed to determine the goals for the new office workflow. Additionally, an assessment of the layout of the office was conducted as a result of the storage of physical charts is being removed.

Based on the research and assessment of the of the transition from physical charts to the new EHR, the below patient flow was recommended for lab only visits.
